Venustra is the brain-child of an Austin, Texas musician Synderella Nervosa. The project started out as a development of direction and sound and art working under the moniker "Misery Theatre" from 2009 to 2014. After changing the name to Venustra, the goal was still roughly the same, however, less constricted on the direction of the sound. The new idea was to make this project as versatile as possible. Charged on the fierceness of influences such as Wednesday 13 and Dir en Grey, the main goal for Venustra at the start was a multi-media project. The prospect of live shows was a virtual impossibility but that was the idea at the time. But, convinced by a few folks to get the music out there, Syn had since made it a point to make the shows as engaging as possible. Playing a few shows solo with nothing but a backing track, soon caught the attention of a few local musicians. Venustra had never expanded beyond three or four players at a time but still managed to make a big impression on an audience. Still working as a 3 piece in early 2019, right out the gate, playing opening slots for bands such as CombiChirst and Beasto Blanco. Releasing their debut album: Candy Apples Custom Made on December 1st, 2019 on Misery Theatre Records. However, due to the releases' production errors, the debut album will be updated as a "Reimagined" version along with various other songs is set to release again in 2021. The first of these songs is the single "Step Right Up!".
Note: Due to COVID-19, any and all shows are postponed until further notice.
